Digital Life Sciences expands home office work and relies on a telephone system in the cloud with seamless Microsoft Teams integration as well as mobile phone contracts for all employees.
The onset of the Corona pandemic also brought changes to Digital Life Sciences. Almost all of the offices remained empty as the nearly 60 employees shifted their workday to the home office without further ado. A few weeks later, a positive response could already be given — the colleagues were working self-sufficiently without any restrictions. Therefore, Digital Life Sciences recently decided to expand the possibility of home office work for all full-time job offers.
However, in order to ensure smooth communication with business partners and colleagues in the home office in the long term, further measures were taken: On the one hand, the provider of the cloud-based telephone system was changed in order to achieve seamless Microsoft Teams integration and, on the other hand, the entire workforce was equipped with mobile phone contracts.
The use of o2’s Digital Phone Business virtual telephone system ensures location-independent and seamless accessibility while eliminating the use of corded telephones. In addition to this primary aspect, the idea came up of providing all employees with a mobile communications contract and also subsidizing the associated hardware for the employees. The workforce enjoys unlimited high-speed data volume, an o2 allnet flat rate for telephony and text messaging, and Europe-wide roaming for both business and private use. This also has the advantage that employees from more rural regions with a lower fixed network bandwidth can access fluid Internet access at any time via a hotspot on their smartphone.
